Discover Los Saltos del Moconá – A Hidden Natural Wonder
Don’t miss one of the most remarkable and lesser-known natural attractions in the Iguazú region: Los Saltos del Moconá. Located in the province of Misiones, these unique waterfalls stretch for approximately 3,000 meters along the Uruguay River and, depending on water levels, can reach heights of up to 12 meters.
Your journey begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Iguazú. As you travel toward the destination, you’ll pass through the lush landscapes of Misiones, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich natural beauty. The route follows Provincial Route 2, which runs alongside the Uruguay River, covering a distance of approximately 300 kilometers.
Upon arrival, take time to admire the local flora and fauna in a serene environment that invites quiet reflection and appreciation of nature. The Uruguay River here follows a geological fault, creating a rare phenomenon where the waterfalls run lengthwise along the river, rather than dropping across it. From this vantage point, you can also see the Brazilian shoreline across the river.
You will have free time to explore the area and, if you wish, optionally board a speedboat (not included; payable directly at the destination). This exhilarating experience allows you to fully appreciate the over 3-kilometer-long canyon, with continuous waterfalls ranging from 2 to 7 meters in height, offering a truly unforgettable perspective of this natural marvel.
