Itinerary

Salzburg Day Trip from Vienna
Relax and enjoy an unforgettable day trip to Salzburg aboard our modern, comfortable coach. As we leave Vienna behind, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Salzkammergut, a region famous for its crystal-clear lakes, lush green hills and majestic Alpine mountains. This scenic landscape is a delight for nature lovers and instantly recognisable to fans of The Sound of Music, as many of the film’s iconic opening scenes were shot here.

Guided Walk Through Salzburg’s Old Town
Upon arrival in Salzburg, a guided walking tour through the historic Old Town (Altstadt) awaits. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is rich in history, culture and cinematic charm. One of the highlights is the beautiful Mirabell Gardens, a famous filming location where Maria and the children performed the beloved “Do-Re-Mi” scene on the steps and by the fountain.

You’ll also see the Pferdeschwemme and the Felsenreitschule, where Baron von Trapp sang the emotional farewell song “Edelweiss.” These locations and their stories bring the magic of The Sound of Music vividly back to life.

Mozart’s Birthplace and Historic Landmarks
Another highlight is a visit to Mozart’s birthplace on the charming Getreidegasse. This narrow, winding street has retained its 18th-century atmosphere and leads to the house where one of the world’s greatest composers was born. Walking through this historic area offers a fascinating glimpse into Mozart’s early life.

During the tour, you will also discover Salzburg’s most important landmarks, including the University Church, St. Peter’s Abbey, the impressive Salzburg Cathedral, and the world-famous Festival Hall, home of the Salzburg Festival.

Free Time in Salzburg
After the guided tour, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore Salzburg at your own pace. Stroll through the picturesque streets, enjoy a traditional lunch, relax in a café, or browse the many shops. Salzburg effortlessly combines historic charm with a lively modern atmosphere.

Return to Vienna
Before departing, you’ll have ample time to enjoy the city at your leisure. The return journey to Vienna begins at 4:00 PM, with an expected arrival at around 8:00 PM, bringing this scenic and cultural day trip to a relaxing close.
