Itinerary

Do you want to learn how to make the dish that best embodies Spanish cuisine? Together with a professional chef, you will get the chance to make your own paella during this cooking session. Savour a bottle of wine while you sample the freshly prepared paella.

Under the direction of a skilled local chef, you will learn how to make the sofrito, the dish's foundation, cook the rice to perfection, and arrange the seafood or other ingredients on top. You will learn important methods in the class, like how to control the heat, when to add the rice, and how to get the ideal socarrat (the crispy layer of rice at the bottom).

We'll meet at Carrer Jaume Puigvert 13, which is in the peaceful and friendly Horta-Guinardó region of Barcelona. You'll feel like you're just another Barcelona resident in this prime setting, surrounded by locals.

A trained chef will greet you and give you a brief overview of paella and the key components we'll be using. In the meantime, we will savour bread and tomato, a classic Catalan appetiser. You will discover all the secrets of paella, one of the most significant meals in Spanish cuisine, in a welcoming and enjoyable setting.

We will begin preparing our own paella with high-quality, fresh ingredients in a highly dynamic manner. Learn about the best seafood and rice to use in this recipe.

Once the cooking is finished, you and your fellow participants will sit down and savour the results of your hard work. Enjoy the flavours of your freshly prepared paella, tapas, and sangria during this group lunch.

Many cooking classes are held in a friendly setting that invites conversation, story-telling, and camaraderie over a common culinary experience.

The chef will frequently discuss the origins and cultural significance of paella, which has a strong hold on Spanish culinary traditions, particularly in Valencia. A bottle of wine and a taste of the paella you just prepared will be the perfect way to round off the activity.
