Itinerary

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter™
Get your hands on some of the most sought-after tickets in London and step into the spellbinding world of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London. Discover breathtaking sets, iconic props, and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind the beloved Harry Potter film series.

Your journey into the Wizarding World begins exactly where Harry’s did — the cupboard under the stairs. After an exclusive introductory video featuring familiar faces from the films, you’ll be welcomed into the Great Hall, where you can admire authentic costumes and wigs worn by the cast.

The Sets
From the Great Hall, venture into the Forbidden Forest, passing masked Death Eaters before coming face to face with Aragog. Explore legendary locations including:

  • Platform 9¾, featuring the original Hogwarts Express, used for both the very first and final shots of the film series
  • Diagon Alley, home to Ollivanders Wand Shop, with over 17,000 individually labelled wand boxes
  • Numerous meticulously preserved film sets that defined the Wizarding World

Diagon Alley is often a highlight for visitors, showcasing the incredible attention to detail that brought J.K. Rowling’s world to life.

Animatronics & Magical Creatures
Come face to face with some of the Wizarding World’s most impressive creatures. Discover the fearsome Basilisk from The Chamber of Secrets, created using a combination of practical and visual effects. Its full-sized mouth measured 30 feet long, with jaws 3 feet deep, and it could even slither along a track during filming.

You’ll also meet Buckbeak the Hippogriff, one of the series’ most beloved creatures. Buckbeak had three physical versions—standing, rearing, and lying down—with every feather individually glued on by hand.

The Art Department
Marvel at the iconic Hogwarts Castle model, built by a team of 86 artists and crew members. Enhanced with digital effects, the model features 2,500 fibre-optic lights that flicker to simulate life inside the castle. With real gravel, plants, and extraordinary detail, the combined working hours equate to an astonishing 74 years.

From potion textbooks and acceptance letters to sweet wrappers and copies of the Daily Prophet, every paper prop was hand-designed and hand-made. Even the potion bottles were individually illustrated.

Original Props
The Studio houses an incredible volume of original props, making every corner a delight for fans. Spot famous items such as:

  • The Elder Wand and Golden Snitch
  • Over 950 potion jars in the Potions Classroom
  • 900 memory vials in Professor Dumbledore’s office
  • More than 130 decorative plates in Professor Umbridge’s unmistakably pink office

Fun fact: filmmakers had to photograph real kittens wearing crystal balls, witch hats, and balls of wool to create Umbridge’s wall decor!

Special Effects & Green Screen Magic
Many effects fans assume were digital were actually fully operational. The slithering door to the Chamber of Secrets and the intricate Gringotts Bank door are both real, functioning mechanisms.

Green screen technology played a crucial role too—especially for Quidditch scenes. Visitors can even hop on a broom and experience the magic themselves.

Butterbeer™ & Studio Dining
Take a break and refuel with a frothy Butterbeer™ in the newly enhanced café and dining area—just like Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the Leaky Cauldron.
