Tour Description

Escape the city and experience the natural beauty and coastal charm just beyond San Francisco on this half-day tour to Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito, followed by a scenic San Francisco Bay Cruise.

Your journey begins with a drive across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and into the rugged coastal mountains of Marin County, offering magnificent views of the San Francisco Bay and valleys once inhabited by the Coastal Miwok people. A photo stop at Golden Gate Vista Point allows you to capture stunning views of the bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the city skyline.

The first major stop is Muir Woods National Monument, home to ancient groves of Giant Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) towering above Redwood Creek. Enjoy more time in Muir Woods than offered by most tour operators, with ample opportunity to walk the trails, cross wooden bridges, listen to flowing water, and take in the fresh, forest air. Muir Woods entrance fee is included.

Next, visit the picturesque seaside town of Sausalito, a charming Mediterranean-style village known for its waterfront views, art galleries, boutique shops, and inviting cafés. Take time to stroll along the shoreline and admire panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline across the bay.

Upon returning to San Francisco near Pier 39, your experience continues with a 60-minute narrated San Francisco Bay Cruise. Sail past the famous Pier 39 sea lions and along the city’s historic waterfront before passing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. The cruise circles Alcatraz Island, offering views from every angle of the infamous former prison, and also showcases Angel Island, often called the “Ellis Island of the West,” along with San Francisco’s spectacular skyline.

The Bay Cruise features both indoor and outdoor seating and full narration highlighting major landmarks. Keep an eye on the water—you may spot harbor porpoises, which have recently returned to the bay.

Tour Schedule:

  • 07:40 am – Departure from Post Street pickup location
  • 08:00 am – Departure from Leavenworth pickup location
  • 08:00 – 09:30 am – Scenic drive to Muir Woods via the Golden Gate Bridge, including a stop at Golden Gate Vista Point
  • 09:30 – 11:30 am – Explore Muir Woods National Monument (approximately 1.5 hours)
  • 11:40 am – 12:40 pm – Free time in Sausalito
  • 12:40 pm – Return to San Francisco

  • There may be unexpected changes in the timetable due to public holidays, weather conditions, or other unanticipated situations. During major events, summer vacations, and weekends, the city will be quite busy.
  • We will do everything we can to provide a smooth and consistent service! In such cases, no reimbursement is allowed.
  • Tours run regardless of the weather. Weather-related refunds will not be issued unless the service is discontinued due to inclement weather.
  • The service provider preserves the right to amend or cancel the itinerary due to city events or force majeure.
