Itinerary

A wonderful approach to comprehend the historical significance of the city and the diverse cultural fabric that has shaped St. Augustine throughout the ages is to take the St. Augustine History Museum Tour. Visit the museum's official website for the most up-to-date details on tours, hours, and special events.

Exhibits at the museum span important junctures in St. Augustine's history, from the school's establishment in 1565 to the present. The Civil War, the British Period, and the Spanish colonial era are frequently discussed topics.

A vast array of artefacts, such as everyday objects, clothes, and tools, are kept in the museum. The daily lives of people who have resided in St. Augustine throughout its history are depicted in part by these artefacts.

Interactive components are a common feature of tours, enabling guests to interact more closely with the displays. This could involve interactive exhibits or chances to take part in demos. The tours are led by knowledgeable interpreters who field questions and offer comprehensive information about the exhibits. Their narrative frequently breathes life into St. Augustine's history and makes the past more approachable.

More than 400 years of Florida history are brought to life through a combination of historical exhibits and private collections. England, Spain, and France are among the nations that reigned over St. Augustine that are represented in the museum's exhibits.

Henry Flagler was a titan of the real estate and transportation sectors, a force for transformation. The St. Augustine History Museum has documentation and exhibits honouring his accomplishments to Florida. Along the way, you'll witness real artefacts, never-before-seen photos, and information about the development of St. Augustine and Florida under Spanish and British rule. A re-creation of a Spanish galleon, genuine gold, silver, and jewellery discovered in lost treasures off the coast of Florida, as well as toys and dolls from the early 19th and 20th century are among the more than 400 years of history on exhibit. The museum, which is located on the Old Jail, provides additional context for understanding Florida's past.
